Submerged
Exhibition
at the Raiffeisenkasse Seekirchen
November
to December 1996
The
pictures deal with the subject of water as an elemental force, donor of
life and energy. They describe the mysticism of the natural element
water and its ability to engulf the earth. Quite a few pictures were
created at reservoirs or at artificial lakes and therefore form a
contrast to the natural environment.
The
main focus is the contrast between the topographical original
state and civilized environment, between order (symmetry) and disorder
(emotion). Not outstanding objects are revealed in the pictures, rather apparently negligible things. Only
through a substantial abstraction and an exaggeration of reality do the anonymous locations gain in importance.
Therefore not
only the portrayed object but also photography itself is given a special emphasis.
